What is Stablecoin Settlement?

Stablecoin settlement is the practice of using stablecoins, typically USD-pegged tokens such as USDT or USDC, as the final medium of exchange in a payment flow. Instead of relying on traditional banking rails, card networks, or correspondent banks to move value between parties, stablecoin settlement transfers tokenized dollars across blockchain networks. The result is faster, cheaper, and globally available settlement that operates 24/7 with cryptographic finality.

How Stablecoin Settlement Works

In a traditional payment, multiple intermediaries are involved between the payer and the payee: card networks, acquiring banks, issuing banks, and clearing houses.
